LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS BELOW
WIW got its humble beginning in 2009. Meeting were held at different restaurants or at someone’s home. God spoke to Janet in January of 2016, that "it was time to take WIW to the next level." WIW needed a set place, date and time for meetings. Janet shared her vision with her husband and pastor and they gave their blessings. She also shared her vision with her prayer partners. At that time they were sister Kaye Davis and her daughter Johnetta Viers. She asked them to pray that God would direct her to the right place and connect her with the right ladies for the vision.
God is amazing! Through her daughter’s connection with Cupcakes and Pearls, a mentoring ministry for girls ages 7-17, owner Nikki Johnson and her assistant Shoshannah Anderson, God opened the door for WIW to hold meetings on the second Friday night of the month in the Decatur Mall. Our first meeting was held Friday, March 11, 2016.
Due to the remodeling of the Decatur Mall, in August 2016, WIW relocated to the Decatur Library and changed their meeting days to every first Monday of the month. "God never ceases to be amazing at the things that He does. It’s a must that we stay the course because God is leading this ministry into and to be a blessing to others.
Things that seems to be a setback is really designed to position us to flourish in the ways of God." Janet is believing God that the next move for WIW will be their own building to better serve others.
