Tutoring Services

In 2019, the Alabama legislature passed the Alabama Literacy Act, aiming to improve the reading proficiency of public school students in kindergarten through 3rd-grade. The act seeks to ensure that these students can read at or above grade level by the end of the 3rd grade. Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, children will be required to read on grade level by the end of third grade and pass a standardized test. If unable to pass the standardized test, they will have to repeat that grade. To support the students in our community, Women Inspiring Women, is offering tutoring services for reading and math to kindergarten,1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade students. We also provide one-on-one tutoring services for grades 4-12 in math. We evaluate the progress of our students every 9 weeks. These services can be provided either in person or via Zoom. We understand that not everyone may be able to afford tutoring, so we offer no-cost, one-on-one tutoring services that cater to the unique needs of your child. We rely on sponsorships, grants, donations and fundraisers to provide this service. We care about the safety of our students, so we ensure that all our tutors pass a background check before they start working with us. Our tutoring services are available to students in the following counties: Morgan, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, and Madison. However, space is limited, so we encourage you to enroll your child at your earliest convenience.
